The tease: DnD 5e Campaign -
The intro campaign (which will be a 3 session limit, so you're only committing for 3 weeks) is set in a small village that has been recently hit with a particularly disastrous disease. There has been sightings at night around the village of unnatural creatures moving about in packs. The village has contact the local lord to inform him of the affair and he has summoned a group of misfit adventurers to investigate the local plague and night creatures.
Franklyn Gutter: Works as a farm hard during planting and harvest season. Also helps with village repairs during the hot summer months (learn more via insight check). He grew up in the village and knows most everyone, everyone mostly knows him (learn more via history check). He isn’t the town fool, but he is close to it. Constantly causing accidents due to his clumsy nature.
Buddy Treh: Has lived in the village for the past decade. He’s a human in his mid 40’s. He’s worked various odd jobs through his life (learn more via perception check). A sturdy fellow who has definitely seen better days, Buddy is a reliable worker that is happy to do any job as long as it pays his food and lodging.
One summer Franklyn and his friend Buddy Treh (another local farm hand) were responsible for collecting the spun hay and loading the massive bundles into wagons to be deposited in the barn. As Franklyn was helping load a bundle of hay onto a wagon he had a fearsome itch on his backside. The itch was so malicious and so intense Franklyn quickly lost focus of the world around him. The itch on Franklyn’s backside became the center of all the astral planes and multiverses. In a desperate attempt to scratch the itch Franklyn began wiggling his torso, hoping his cotton shirt and wool overcoat would relieve the annoying sensation. This proved fruitless. Franklyn’s annoyance soon became madness. He forgot about bringing the wagons to the barn, he forgot about bundles of hay, and he forgot he was helping Buddy Treh carry a particularly heavy bundle.
Buddy was having a good day. He and Franklyn had not had any accidents...yet. They had been productive and efficient in transporting bundles of hay. It was hard work under the hot Etruscan (the continent the village is on) sun. The best part of this job was when the day was finished, as it meant Buddy could spend the rest of the night away from the accident prone Franklyn. As Buddy and Franklyn were loading up what should have been the last wagon for the day, Buddy noticed Franklyn squiggling on the other end of the bundle.
“Ho Frank! Got a bee in yor bum?”
There was no response. The squiggling intensified from Franklyn. Buddy began to notice more and more weight on his end of the bundle.
“Frank! Hol yor end up....”
Buddy couldn’t say anything more as the enormous bundle of hay dropped, breaking its coupling cords and spilling fresh hay over the combed field.
As Buddy look at the sprawling mess, he saw Franklyn on the ground smiling profusely.
“What’s so damn funny?” Asked Buddy.
“I got the itch” replied Franklyn happily.
Day 2 Tease
The wars of Rosebuds was fought primarily over the fledgling romance between Nathan, son of Nashun of House Krillhoud, and Byoi, daughter of Meg’vye of house F’rar. Perhaps you think this romance to be something of a Romeo and Juliet affair. Far from it. Twice the houses of Krillhoud and F’rar had tried to mend the old feuds that had long existed between the two neighboring houses. Twice there were breakdowns in the negotiations concerning the exchange of lands that would take place. Twice wars had broken out that called vassals to banners for the sake of pride. Each of these wars lasted over a decade. It’s been over a hundred years since the two houses had first clashed. Not many among the two great House’s hierarchies can remember which family had first caused offense. Nonetheless the two great houses have placed all of their hopes into one final attempt at peace through marriage. Nathan, son of Nashun, would marry Byoi, daughter of Meg’vye. The problem? The two betrothed had been raised in households of hate. How could they unite themselves to the clan that was responsible for so much death, and so much pain?
One of the bannerlords of house F’rar, Lord Flan Thilter ruled a city near the shared border. He had seen his fair share of fighting in the most recent war of Rosebuds. With the approaching marriage date, Flan was preparing his city and his region for war again. Marriage had not brought peace the last two attempts, why would it now? A small village south of Lord Flan’s seat in the City of Godin had recently failed to respond to the call to arms. The village was complaining of a plague that had wiped out nearly all the healthy fighting aged men. Patience and mercy were not two of Lord Flan’s personal traits. He had sought out adventurers from neighboring towns and regions who were willing to investigate the Village, the plague, and then ultimately report back to him.
Day 3 Tease
Wednesday May 17th will be a “character generation” night for anyone that is playing and has questions about creating a character in Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. I’ll be online from 8:30PM-11:00PM Central time that night available to offer any assistance you may need in creating a character.
Wednesday May 24th will be the first encounter from 8:30PM to 11:00PM. On to today’s tease!
The city of Godin is the seat of the region of Godin. Lord Flan Thilter has long ruled as Lord of the region, but he has only recently taken up his seat as the Mayor of Godin. The regional landscape of political and economic power differs vastly in the metropolis of Godin from it’s surrounding towns and villages. Godin is the hub of culture, wealth, and religion. Having some two thousand residents, the city boasts a diverse populace of farmers, entertainers, tradesmen, smiths, guild members, and travelers.
Many of the social events are directed by the two local religions in Godin. Two vastly differing temples denote the skyline of Godin. One temple is on the north side of town near the trade district. This is the temple of the Elder Prophets. The second temple is on the southern side of the town near “home street” in the housing district. This is the temple of the Shaded God. The tenants, beliefs, and followers of these religions are quite distinct from one another.
The priests of the Elder Prophets teach that many eons ago the astral planes were conquered by a conclave of prophets that banished every creature that wouldn’t hearken to the conclaves teachings. This was a violent banishing that splintered a great many of the worlds and planes of existence. Magic entered into the world of the Etruscan continent through this splintering. The priests of the Elder Prophets believe the Elder Prophets to have given magic as a gift and a message for all of creation under the Etruscan sun. As such the priests of the Elder Prophets worship a pantheon of magical deities that are seen as the creative origins of various types of magic. The temple in Godin is quite stately and infused with many magical properties. Miracles, enchantments, and endowments, all take place as a ritualistic part of worship for the followers of the Elder Prophets. As one of the great priests of generations ago said “Magic was sent by the Elder Prophets, so that we might better serve the Elder Prophets purposes”.
The priests of the Shaded God believe in a monotheistic God. This God made the Etruscan sun out of anger. So it burns hot all year round. Only the great relief of clouds can provide what is most desired by the followers of the Shaded God - rest and restoration. The garb of a typical priest of the Shaded God consists of a humble robe of silken cloth, with undergarments made of cotton. On their backs the priests wear two poles strapped together with leather around the chest and waist. These poles extend a few inches above the head and are then attached to a small thatched square that provides shade for the priest. The priests of the shaded God have decorated their temple with window dressings to darken the insides of the temple, not to the point of darkness, but to the point where there is not a single place in the temple that is bright or without shade. There is presently a special vigil going on in the temple of the Shaded God to pray for clouds to cover the hot Etruscan sun and provide rain to the people of Godin.

Day 5 Tease
Morty hated digging ditches. With each heap of dirt he moved his anguish grew. It wasn’t the physical labor that bugged him in particular, nor was it the hot Etruscan sun beating down without reprieve. It didn’t particularly disturb him that he was digging trenches with Shelly and Tarky, two fellow peasants from the farmlands outside Godin. It wasn’t anything in particular that made the digging of ditches so laborious and damnable. It was the reality that with each shovel full of earth he moved, there would be a body soon in its place.
